I was going through a time where I was picked on and ignored and such, and when I tried to tell my parents that I thought I was depressed, they ignored me and told me to quit being a baby. Courtney from Harrah, OkI received the Meteora album for Christmas ne year, and this song was my favorite of the album I felt that, even though I could pretty much relate to the entire album, "Nobody's Listening" really was the one I felt closest to.and people but a smile on just bc it feels like no ones gonna listen and or care and having all the pain and anger Linkin park forever Steph from Commack, Nythis song really hits hard right now.I don't know, that's just what I kinda saw in the lyrics. Also, it could be an answer to the music critics and certain music fans writing them off as "just another rap-metal throwaway band" when they first came out. Zero from Nowhere, NjCould this song be about the pressures of the record company pushing them for a follow-up to Hybrid Theory? I don't know but HT was such a successful record that there had to be some pressure on them.It should also be noted that the sample, "Common' at you from every side," at the beginning and end of the song is of Mike himself rapping in the "Reanimation" version of High Voltage. Luna Loud from Royal Woods, MichiganThe line, "Rise from the ashes of Stylish Division," references Stylish Division, which was the rap group/project Mike Shinoda had before forming Linkin Park.
